Packaging Technologist

Reporting to the Packaging Manager you will be responsible for managing packing projects, from initial sourcing of new and innovative packaging solutions and the costing of components, through to co-ordinating internal department requirements.

Reporting to the Packaging Manager you will be responsible for managing packing projects, from initial sourcing of new and innovative packaging solutions and the costing of components, through to co-ordinating internal department requirements.

You will work closely with customers, assisting with initial customer briefs and providing guidance where required to identify potential issues at the outset of the project. The organisation and management of production line trials, transit trials, and carrying out compatibility testing will form part of the role together with the investigation and resolution of on line packaging related issues.

You will be responsible for the design/approval of specifications for cases/labels/leaflets/ cartons as required, the review of master packing dockets prior to final sign off and performing supplier audits.

With hands-on experience of packaging development, ideally you should have a degree level education and 5 years experience in a relevant packaging role. A formal packaging qualification is desirable along with a results driven approach, good attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills and a team oriented approach.

Hours of work will be 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday although some flexibility will be required. Salary is negotiable.
