Having long enjoyed ‘cult status’ in the UK for its best selling Sensibio micellar solution, French skin care brand Bioderma is finally looking to extend into the market via pharmacies this March. Patrick Nacabal, the brand’s Manager of Europe, Canada & Africa, talks to CosmeticNews about its next phase of growth.

How was 2012 for Bioderma?
Excellent! We had a sales turnover of more than €190m with a growth of 21% versus 2011, including 28% just for our international activity.

How has Bioderma been performing in France?
In France our sales turnover increased by 13% in a national market which saw moderate growth.

Tell me about your plans to enter the UK.
Launching in the UK remains one of our major priorities for 2013, so we will concentrate our efforts to present our products to English dermatologists and pharmacists. We believe in the potential of Bioderma in the UK, which has remained a major European market for us. Globally, we envisage double digit growth for all our markets this year.
