Herbal cosmetic products have always driven sales in India, but today, a rather unique range of products are gaining greater visibility and jostling with mainstream global brands.
Umesh Soni, a Mumbai-based microbiologist and founder/CEO of Cowpathy, began crafting organic soaps in 2012. His mission was to find a way to integrate cow dung and cow urine, that Ayurveda believes to have antiseptic and healing properties, into his range of cosmetics, he says.
That year, he launched the Cowpathy brand with seven variants of dung soap.
