Eyes expansion through overseas operations

Japan’s Pola Orbis Holdings is to acquire organic Australian skin care brand Jurlique International for A$300m. Pola Orbis, which went public a year ago, will buy all the outstanding shares in Jurlique from shareholders including J JHP, CPH Products and Ulrike Klein Investments. The transaction is expected to close by February 2012.

Pola Orbis aims to boost group sales to ¥250bn (US$3.2bn) by 2020 via overseas operations and the Jurlique purchase follows Pola Orbis’ acquisition of H2O Plus Holdings, a US-based natural skin care brand, in July.
