Private label cosmetics continued to prosper in 2014 and one major trend became blindingly obvious: the move of retailers into the sector. In the face of falling sales of clothing in particular, fashion retailers saw cosmetics – especially make-up – as a way of bringing purchasers in-store with a cheaper offering.
