Jan Sewell, BAFTA Award-Winning Make-Up Designer and Owner and Director of the store said: “We have seen how both the retail and the make-up industry have changed over the years, along with customer buying behaviour and we wanted to create a one stop retail experience that is at the forefront of technology, the industry and customer service.”

She told Cosmetics Business there are a couple of other stores focusing on the pro market, but this one will take the concept to another level.

“We really listened to what our customers want and researched popular pro stores across the world (especially the US) to use as a benchmark for our new space so that we appeal to both the UK and global market.”

The store is already scheduled to supply make-up for upcoming blockbuster films, including Tomb Raider, Jurassic World's sequel and Star Wars.

The Makeup Armoury, which will also have en-tail website is described as a full service make-up artist outlet and is expected to have all of the best pro brands under one roof. It will stock brands including Skin Illustrator, Kryolan, Ben Nye, Mouldlife and Maqpro.

The store aims to provide artists with everything they will need for their kit, from make-up and special SFX products to prosthetics and hair tools.

The Makeup Armoury is based in Iver, which is close to the UK’s Pinewood and Shepperton studios. The warehouse has space for stock, storage, photoshoots and a studio so make-up artists working at any of the nearby studios will be encouraged to pop in.
