Building eco-toilets across tribal schools in India as an impact driven business

Purearth has launched the Eco-Pot Project through the Pure Purpose Foundation – the brand’s charitable foundation, founded in 2016, that focuses on social impact initiatives ranging from safe sanitation, rainwater harvesting, tree plantation and education to environmental projects supporting biodynamic and organic farming methods, carbon offsets and reforestation.

As one of the organization’s most integral initiatives, the Eco-Pot Project to build eco-toilets was launched as a means to provide safe sanitation for resource poor communities, especially women and young girls.

The Pure Purpose Foundation’s first two Eco-Pot Projects were launched at the foothills of the Himalayas and in Maharashtra, India. Over the years, the foundation has built 40 toilets around the Gagas river basin in Uttarakhand, Himalayas and almost 30 are soon to be built across tribal Adivasi schools in the Grameen areas of Khed, Maharashtra, India.

In their most recent venture, the Purearth Team visited the Adarsh Secondary School in Amboli Village, Khed to not just build new eco-toilets, but also open a library for the faculty and students, and plant a hundred trees within the school environment.

Consumers can learn more about the Pure Purpose Foundation and its initiatives on the Purearth website.
