The XL5 pump is suitable for a number of professional and personal applications including spa and hair care products

Packaging company RPC Bramlage has released a new airless pump.

The XL5 pump delivers a 5ml dosage with every use, but users are able to control how much product is dispensed.

Meanwhile, its patented AirFree technology is said to offer a good restitution rate compared to other options on the market.

The new XL5 pump fits onto the 500ml AirFree Vinci bottle and can be adapted to larger sized bottles up to 1000ml.

The pump is designed to be used for a variety of professional and personal care products, such as spa or hair care, but can also be used for larger family size or promotional packs.

However, it is better suited to high viscosity formulas, such as hair and body treatments and less suitable for air dispensers.

Airless bottles are designed with no dip tube and instead contain a diaphragm that rises to evacuate the product inside.

These are typically used with natural skin care products as it prevents them from excessive exposure to air, which damages the product and reduces its shelf life.

When the pump is pressed it creates a vacuum effect inside to push the product to the surface, this also ensures that all of the product is used, which is sometimes considered a problem in conventional spring pumps.

RPC Bramlage specialises in the development of plastic packaging for worldwide markets, including cosmetics, healthcare, food and technical products.
