Reed Exhibitions cancels 2020 in-cosmetics Global, Latin America and North America trade shows

But the events’ organiser has no plans to postpone in-cosmetics Asia, which will run, as scheduled, in November

The organiser of the in-cosmetics family of trade shows, Reed Exhibitions, has confirmed the cancellation of three of its cosmetics ingredients-led events which were originally scheduled for 2020.

in-cosmetics Global, Latin America and North America have now been postponed until 2021.

Commenting on the decision, Cathy Laporte, Portfolio Director at Reed Exhibitions, said: “Over 80% of in-cosmetics Global attendees are international from countries at different stages of the global pandemic and with varying government advice and travel restrictions. We have therefore decided to postpone in-cosmetics Global 2020 to 13-15 April 2021.

“To ensure minimum logistical impact for all participants, we will hold the event in Barcelona (same hall/venue) and not in Milan, as originally scheduled for 2021.”

in-cosmetics Global 2020 was initially due to take place in Barcelona on 31 March-2 April, but, due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, was pushed back first to the end of June and then to 6-8 October 2020.

Reed Exhibitions also revealed new 2021 dates for the next edition of in-cosmetics Latin America.

“With the Covid-19 pandemic worsening across the Americas, we do not consider it safe at this stage to organise a face-to-face exhibition,” Laporte added.

“We are therefore postponing in-cosmetics Latin America to 22-23 September 2021 (same hall/venue) and cancelling our North American event for 2020.”

However, taking into account the improving Covid-19 situation in Asia, the events' organiser announced it would not be cancelling this year’s in-cosmetics Asia show, which is still down in the diary for 3-5 November 2020 at BITEC Bangkok in Thailand.

“We will implement health and safety measures recommended by WHO and local authorities,” confirmed Laporte, stating that attendees’ wellbeing would be at the heart of the company’s decision-making.
