Registration for in-cosmetics Latin America goes live as event returns

Visitors can now register for in-cosmetics Latin America (19-20 September), returning to São Paulo’s Expo Center Norte, Brazil, for its fifth instalment

With more than 4500 visitors expected to descend in São Paulo this autumn, 2018 will become in-cosmetics Latin America’s biggest year yet.

Cosmetic industry professionals from across the region will travel to Brazil in search of inspiration that will enable them to deliver a new wave of formulations that tap into the latest consumer trends.

Offering unrivalled networking opportunities, the show will act as a who’s who of the industry with representatives from major cosmetic companies attending, including: Natura, O Boticario, Belcorp, Unique, Unilever, P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Hypermarcas, Beiersdorf, L'Oréal, Colgate-Palmolive, Estée Lauder, Mary Kay, Avon, Coty and many more.

According to visitor Jhonatan Peña, Research and Development Analyst at Scandinavia Pharma – Colombia, in-cosmetics Latin America offers visitors an exclusive look at new product launches and the chance to discover raw materials that are not yet available to the market.

Luciano Peixoto, from Luck Cosmetics, is another that cites innovation as a key reason to visit, commenting: "It's an event that really pays off.”

Visitors will be at the cutting edge of cosmetic innovation, with novel ingredients being unveiled by the likes of Croda, Ashland, Dow Chemical, Symrise and Evonik.

Suppliers will showcase their latest launches, with Shanghai Smart Chemicals Co. Ltd. bringing a selection of exciting new products all the way from China, including Guanidine Carbonate, which is an alkaline, organic salt utilised primarily as an ingredient in hair straightening and depilatory systems.

Elsewhere, Tianjin Chengyi International Trading Co., Ltd. will showcase a number of products including Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine (Aminsoft S18), an innovative hair conditioner.

Jorge Ferré, commercial director of Chemyunion, which exhibited at in-cosmetics Latin America 2017, said: "in-cosmetics is an event exclusively focused on business, especially for future projects. Our participation was a very positive experience and we will be back in 2018."

Combined, these event assets will ensure beauty professionals leave the show with vastly improved overviews of industry issues, as well as an arsenal of new formulation techniques.

The new Spotlight On programme will wow visitors with an in-depth exploration of three topical industry areas: haircare, anti-ageing and formulation, with attendees able to test and learn more about functional and active ingredients specifically designed for these formulations.

The popular Innovation Zone will be in place, featuring the most interesting and unusual active and functional ingredients in one space, helping time-poor R&D professionals pinpoint the innovations on display for a productive visit.

Products featured in this area will be eligible for nomination for the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Awards, with visitors invited to the ceremony to see which companies scoop the Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes, as well as the coveted ITEHPEC Innovation Award.

Daniel Zanetti, Exhibition Director of in-cosmetics Latin America, commented:

"It is an exciting time to be part of the growing Latin American beauty and cosmetics scene, and we look forward to returning in September to see what the last year has brought – and, indeed – looking at what we can expect in the following 12 months.

“The beauty and personal care market in Latin America is earmarked for significant growth between 2016 and 2020, with Brazil expected to grow by 9.5% during this time period, according to Euromonitor.

Uruguay is mooted to grow at a rate of 11.2%, Bolivia by 8.9%, Chile by 8.2% and Guatemala by 7.9%. These are leading the pack, but all 11 countries in the region are in growth of at least 4.9%.

“Latin America is becoming a force to be reckoned with on the global cosmetics stage and this year’s instalment will showcase why – with all the latest innovations from the biggest companies on display and our highest visitor numbers yet.”
