Dutch cosmetics brand to open 100 own-name stores in France over the next ten years

Dutch cosmetics brand Rituals is to open 100 own-name stores in France over the next ten years. The brand is already present in France in the Douglas perfumery chain and via its own website, which it set up in 2012, but it wants to expand in France. It aims to open its first four stores in Paris by the end of 2015.

The firm has hired specialist estate agency Cushman and Wakefield to find the relevant sites, each of which will be between 60sqm and 100sqm. The four initial Parisian sites will be in two shopping centres in the Marais and St Germain-des- Près. Other points of sale will be in the form of shop-in-shops in large stores in the capital.

Rituals was founded in 2000 by Raymond Cloosterman and offers skin care and facial care products, perfumed candles, clothes, perfumes and make-up incorporating precious stones, alongside teas. The brand now has 870 outlets worldwide, 220 of which are in the Netherlands, but also has a presence in 800 hotels, as well as 500 concessions in large stores, 32 airport kiosks and five city based spas.
