Sabinsa unveils new natural preservatives

SabiLize line combines antioxidant and antimicrobial functions


Sabinsa Corporation has developed two patent-pending ingredient compositions said to boast proven preservative efficacy. SabiLize – Alpha and SabiLize – Beta are blends of natural active fractions of essential oils and phytoextracts that are effective against gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, as well as Candida albicans and Aspergilus niger at 0.5% in cream.

In addition, the ingredients prevent the oxidation of oils and fats in cosmetic and personal care formulations.

According to Sabinsa, both products are supported with safety and efficacy data, and do not irritate the skin. In laboratory studies, the preservative efficacy of SabiLize – Alpha and SabiLize – Beta were found to be superior to conventionally used parabens.
