The European pharma group Sanofi-Aventis is to expand its development of products for use in aesthetic medicine – the area bordering on the cosmetic treatment of skin. A partnership agreement has been signed with the Swiss company Anteis which has a division devoted to aesthetic dermatology.

Anteis develops and produces resorbable gels and in 2007 introduced Fortelis for use in the treatment of wrinkles and folds and enabling facial contours and volumes to be remoulded.

The new agreement is worldwide with the exception of the US and applies to three Anteis formulas. It will enable Sanofi-Aventis to round off its current range of products for use in aesthetic medicine.
