Invests in factory infrastructure and IT

Germany’s Schwan Cosmetics has achieved its highest ever sales result for the fiscal year 2010-11. The private label manufacturer said growth across all markets was driven by innovations in virtually all key product areas.

Growth was driven by a 33% sales rise in Eastern Europe, the Middle/Far East and Latin America, as well as a 30% increase in North and Central America.

“This fiscal year was extremely positive,” commented Ulrich Griebel. “Product innovations meant we were able to succeed once again in significantly increasing our high market shares in almost all regions across the world. We were also able to secure a large number of new employees and make important investments for the future in new products, factory infrastructure, automated manufacturing and in our IT systems. The integration of our recently acquired subsidiaries is also well underway.”

Recent investments include an €11m renovation of Schwan’s cosmetics production site in Heroldsberg, Germany, which is set to improve bulk production of cosmetic pencils.

The new Schwan Cosmetics website went live in August and is said to offer new features that simplify navigation and keep customers easily informed.
