The LVMH-retailer is raising funds to help Operation Smile

Sephora China has pledged to help 1,000 disadvantaged children suffering from a cleft lip or cleft palate by the end of 2017.

In China approximately one in every 600 new births is born with the condition, the highest rate in the world.

The LVMH-retailer is working with NGO Operation Smile to tackle the problem, by raising funds to help children as well as provide volunteer support for local medical teams.

Since 2015, Sephora China has helped 758 children receive the necessary surgery to improve their living conditions and health – but the company has pledged to increase this figure by almost 25% by the end of the year.

As part of the retailer’s efforts it released The Maison in-store, five products of which all proceeds are donated to Operation Smile.
