Digital is the way forward for cosmetics retailers in an increasingly tough retail climate, Sephora’s CEO for the Americas announced at the Retail Council of Canada’s Store retail conference.
Calvin McDonald, CEO of Americas at Sephora, told delegates: “What we’re seeing in the US is traditional retail under siege in a fight for survival. Do we have the same sense of urgency in Canada as in the US?” He said that bricks-and-mortar stores need to embrace digital technology in order to survive.
