Beauty giant Sephora has said it is looking forward to defending its actions in court, after a discrimination lawsuit was filed against it last week.

On 18 November Xiao Xiao, Tiantian Zou, Jiali Chen and Man Xu – four women of Chinese descent that live in the US – filed a lawsuit against Sephora, claiming it had singled out their accounts to block or deactivate during its recent online flash sale. The women claim their accounts were singled out on discriminatory grounds, because their surnames signify Chinese or Asian descent.

However, Sephora has rebuked the allegations.
