Sephora reveals new perks for Beauty Insider members in 2019

The retailer is offering exclusive benefits including birthday gifts, free shipping, new sets from Drunk Elephant and Kat Von D and more

Beauty retailer Sephora is updating its Beauty Insider loyalty programme for 2019, bringing beauty fans even more personalised rewards.

Across three tiers – Insider, VIB and Rouge – the programme rewards loyal customers with benefits including points for their purchases at Sephora, which can be redeemed for exclusive products and services.

Now, in addition to existing benefits, all members will be able to choose a free gift during their birthday month, including exclusive mini sets from Drunk Elephant and Kat Von D.

Higher tier VIB and Rouge members also have the choice of a third birthday gift option. This will change throughout the year with January's option being cult brand Milk Makeup's Kush Mascara and Cooling Water.

Instead of a gift, they can also opt to add 250 bonus points to their account.

Meanwhile, Sephora is also allowing VIB and Rouge level members to personalise their programme for their beauty needs. For the year, they can choose one of three perks: additional points in their account; free 2-day shipping (on orders over US$35 for VIB members); or a select amount of Makeup Deluxe Makeover experiences, providing members with full-face makeovers they can share with their friends throughout the year.

“These exciting new benefits are intended to give Beauty Insiders more of what they love, and underscore our appreciation for our most loyal clients.”

Members will still be able to enjoy existing Beauty Insider benefits, which include a points multiplier for higher tiers, exclusive products and experiences, free makeovers for Rouge members and access to Sephora's Beauty Insider Community, where members can connect with one another, ask questions and get recommendations in real time.

The programme changes will come into effect from now through the end of January across Sephora, including its standalone stores, Sephora inside JCPenney and online at sephora.com.
