Japanese conglomerate has already sent dry shampoo and wet body wipes to region

Shiseido has announced plans to send moisturising skin care sets and money to quake-striken Kumamoto, Japan.

The city suffered serious damage after being hit by multiple earthquakes earlier this month; a magnitude 7.0 mainshock was experienced on 16 April. A total of 48 people were killed and 263 were seriously injured in the quakes.

Shiseido plans for 8,400 of its moisturising skin sets – the second batch of aid to be donated by the company – to arrive at the Kasuya ward, Fukuoka prefecture aid goods collection site by tomorrow.

In its first batch of aid, Shiseido donated 3,600 skus of dry shampoo and 10,000 skus of wet body wipes to the site. To date, Shiseido’s total contribution to the region adds up to the equivalent of ¥20m.

In a release, Shiseido noted: “Shiseido extends its heartfelt sympathy to the people affected by the Kumamoto earthquake. We sincerely hope for the earliest recovery of the region.”
