Acquisition includes Albéa's Metal and Brazil industrial clusters

Pumps and sprayers specialist Silgan Dispensing has closed its acquisition of Albéa’s Global Dispensing Systems business.

The purchase includes the French packaging company’s Metal (Covit Europe & US) and Brazil industrial clusters.

According to Silgan Dispensing, the acquisition has expanded its range of lotion and fragrance pumps for the beauty, cosmetic and fragrance markets.

The former Albéa businesses have also added a market-leading portfolio of foamers, as well as beauty sampling and mini product solutions to the Silgan Dispensing product portfolio.

“This acquisition is a transformative move for Silgan Dispensing,” said Kevin Clark, President of Silgan Dispensing.

“We add an impressive product portfolio that expands our market presence, differentiated manufacturing capabilities and a great team of talented professionals who will help us continue in our mission to be the dispensing partner our customers need to help them win in the marketplace.”

Paris-based Albéa, meanwhile, will take the opportunity to focus on its core proposition.

As François Luscan, President and CEO of Albéa, explained: “Albéa will now focus its energy and resources on its legacy Tubes, Cosmetic Rigid Packaging and Beauty Solutions businesses.

"Each business will leverage its unique value proposition, including product offering, industrial footprint, business model and key assets, as well as Albéa’s distinctive culture and strong commitment to corporate social responsibility.”

To ensure a smooth transition for teams as well as business continuity, the two companies have signed a Transition Services Agreement.
