Sleever packages Playboy

Coty selects Skinsleever technology

Coty has selected Sleever International’s Skinsleever technology for its new Playboy fragrances. The packaging uses a matt-shiny embossed effect to create a metallic feel. The goal, said Sleever, was to achieve original packaging for a bold and immediate statement.

The fragrances come in a glass bottle designed to resemble a whisky flask and Skinsleever technology was used to reproduce the brand’s bunny and bow tie emblem on a brushed metal background, while leaving a transparent feminine silhouette-shaped window.

The new fragrances are inspired by and named after different cities around the world – New York, Ibiza, Hollywood, Vegas, Miami and Malibu – and Sleever has interpreted this in the packaging through the addition of metal pigments with a different colour for each fragrance/city.

“The embossed texture effect on the film and the perfect integration of the sleeve against the glass bottle were challenging tasks,” commented David Lopez-Bonnet, director of cosmetic product development at Coty Beauty Europe.
