Nanjing-based Spec-Chem Group has introduced a new active ingredient to reduce under-eye puffiness and dark circles.
SpecKare EyeS100 combines an extract of Poria cocos, a fungus used in traditional Chinese remedies, with two peptides: dipeptide-2 and acetyl tetrapeptide-5.
Poria cocos extract soothes, decreases puffiness and treats dark circles under the eyes, while acetyl tetrapeptide-5 inhibits glycation and both peptides have an anti-edema effect.
In an in vivo test, eye bag volume was reduced by 20% after a week of twice daily use.
