British fashion label due to end ties with L’Oréal’s YSL Beauté after contract expires on 12 September

Stella McCartney has signed a licence agreement with P&G Prestige, which will manufacture and sell the designer brand’s fragrance products from 13 September 2013.

In May, it was announced that L’Oréal’s YSL Beauté and McCartney had mutually decided to terminate their licence agreement after the contract expires on 12 September; the partnership had been running since 2003 when L’Oréal released McCartney’s first scent, Stella Eau de Parfum.

P&G Prestige President Joanne Crewes said: “Stella McCartney is a truly iconic global brand with a modern, naturally sexy and confident approach to fashion. She has a unique, responsible approach to luxury and design. We look forward to extending that approach to beauty even further.”

She added: “Stella McCartney enhances the P&G Prestige portfolio and her passionate consumer base will enable us to reach more women around the world. Her unique point of view combined with our expertise in the fine fragrance category, our core strengths in brand building and innovation, and our global retail partnerships create a perfect partnership for global growth and expansion. We are thrilled.”
