It took seven years, but in 2013 the UK finally got a warm, dry and sunny summer with a heatwave thrown in for extra measure. The sunshine was welcomed with open arms by the British, who flocked in their thousands to visit seaside resorts, meanwhile the sizzling temperatures sent sun care product sales sky rocketing by 10.2% to £198.19m, according to Kantar Worldpanel. Volume growth was equally radiant, increasing by 10.5% to 36.06m units.
