Sytheon has launched a breakthrough ingredient – Synoxyl HSS (INCI: Trimethoxybenzylidene Pentanedione), design of which is inspired by Nature. Synoxyl HSS delivers dual performance: (1) Protecting skin by inhibiting upstream ROS Cascade; None of the existing photostabilisers has this attribute and (2) Preventing degradation of photosensitive compounds.

(1) Unique Skin Protection provided by: (i) inhibiting NADPH Oxidase enzymes, (II) chelating iron & copper, (III) Inhibiting photo-induced cyclobutane pyrimidine dimer formation, and (IV) up-regulating E-Cadherin, a key skin homeostasis biomarker.

(2) Superior stabilisation achieved for photo-unstable compounds, such as, Avobenzone, Retinol, Vanillin, Natural Vitamin E, Water-soluble dyes etc., when compared with existing commercial photostabilizers. 50% in-vivo SPF boosting observed with standard broad-spectrum sunscreens enabling formulators to reduce formulation cost.

Pentanedione technology is protected by two US issued patents 8,617,528; 8,414,870 and multiple US and international pending patents.
