The celebrity hairstylist and social media star will lead the Unilever brand's new all-female team of stylists
TRESemmé has appointed celebrity hairstylist and social media star Justine Marjan as Global Hairstylist.
Marjan will lead a new, all-female team of hairstylists joining the Unilever-owned hair care brand, in a move TRESemmé hopes will “take a stance” against the male-dominated hair care industry and help women to feel empowered.
Heather Mitchell, Global Head of PR and Digital Engagement for Unilever Hair. said: "Every day, TRESemmé looks for ways to inspire women around the world.
"Our inspiration comes from our founder, Edna Emme – who nearly 70 years ago was a leading stylist and groundbreaking businesswoman.
“Just like Edna, Justine is one of the most influential stylists in the hair care industry, and commemorates the legacy as a bold female hairstylist paving a new way forward."
Marjan is known for creating trendy hair looks for celebrity clients including Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen and Kerry Washington.
In her new role, she will work with TRESemmé to provide hair care tips and tricks, as well as exclusive backstage access to fashion shows and advice on how consumers can recreate the looks at home.
She said: "I am thrilled to be partnering with TRESemmé, a brand created by a woman to give women around the world the confidence to put their best look forward.
"Now, more than ever, women need to rally together and I can't wait to see what magic I can create with the TRESemmé team."
Marjan will begin her partnership with TRESemmé at New York Fashion Week, providing exclusive content alongside a team of influential beauty and fashion bloggers including Paola Alberdi, Marianna Hewitt and Casey Holmes.
Her appointment will mark TRESemmé's 18th season as the official hair care sponsor of New York Fashion Week.
The brand will round out its team of hairstylists with Odile Gilbert and Holli Smith, who will join Marjan in creating hair looks for designers including Carolina Herrera, Jenny Packham and Creatures of Comfort.
This is not the first time TRESemmé has worked with a celebrity ambassador; in 2016, the brand teamed up with model and TV host Chrissy Teigen on a campaign promoting its Beauty-Full Volume hair care range.
