Tanzania's FDA aware of growing counterfeit problem

According to the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI), the government loses between 15-25% of total domestic revenue annually as a result of counterfeit and substandard goods, translating to between $343-$566m annually.

Cosmetics brands affected by such illegal activity include Laura Geller, MAC Cosmetics and Estée Lauder brands, with the most commonly copied products being MAC's Studio Ruby Woo Lipstick, Fix Fluid foundation and Lip Pencil.
