Tech industry inspires CC cream from Origins

Out in August, Origins\' Smarty Plants CC SPF 20 Skin Complexion Corrector releases encapsulated actives when the skin comes into contact with environmental aggressors

Premium natural skin care brand Origins (Estée Lauder) is releasing its first CC cream from August named Smarty Plants CC SPF 20 Skin Complexion Corrector. As well as offering colour correcting benefits, the formula also uses a S.M.A.R.T system (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) to help protect the skin against external aggressors.

Used in the technology industry, the S.M.A.R.T system is an approach that helps developers identify and react to software hiccups in a more efficient way. Origins is said to have adapted the idea to the beauty industry by creating a product that responds to environmental triggers such as pollution and UV by releasing encapsulated actives only when the skin needs them.

This includes the release of green tea to help block free radicals and vitamins C and E to protect the skin from pollution and ozone. Meanwhile, the skin is also protected with time-released salicylic acid and chestnut extract while plant-coated mineral pigments are used to correct uneven skin tone.

The CC cream launches in August in two shades; Light/Medium and Medium/Deep priced at £28.
