The UK’s largest packaging show shines a spotlight on the cosmetic industry this week

The cosmetic industry will take centre stage when Packaging Innovations, Empack and Label&Print return to Birmingham's NEC later this week. The two-day event, which opens its doors on 28 February, will showcase the most innovative cosmetic packaging solutions and give visitors the opportunity to get hands on with the latest technologies.

James Drake-Brockman, Divisional Director of Easyfairs' Packaging Portfolio, comments: “We know one of the reasons visitors return to the show year-on-year is to discover the latest innovations and with over 100 products being launched live on the showfloor, Packaging Innovations 2018 promises to have plenty for the cosmetic market to get excited about.

Innovation on Showfloor

Top suppliers, including Hunter Luxury Packaging, Royston Labels, Continental Bottle Company, Burgopak and Quadpack, are just some of the major names on board, many of whom are choosing the show to launch new products to the UK marketplace.

Automated Packaging Systems will launch its new AirPouch delivery system at the show. The new system will offer customers using AirPouch cushions in its packaging process the potential to supply multiple work stations with strings of AirPouch cushions from just a single machine.

Milliken will be showcasing its ClearShield UV absorbers, which offer safe protection for home and personal care PET packaging. This crystal-clear additive offers a wider range of UV protection than other products (up to 390 nm), has proven efficacy in protecting sensitive ingredients such as vitamins and dyes, and retains the high transparency of PET without unwanted shading.

Neopac The Tube will showcase its Stylo Tube range which allows users to apply liquid and semi-solid skincare easily and precisely.

Cobalt Systems, the market leading Print and Apply specialists, will be demonstrating the new Nexus 20 All Electric Shrink Wrap pack printer applicator. This highly accurate machine delivers real-time front of pack labelling without the need for compressed air, speed synchronisation or special conveyor systems, ensuring lowest cost of ownership. The GS1 compliant technology is packed with clever, yet simple to use features and comes with an industry best 3-year warranty.

Lageen Tubes will be launching its new digital decoration technology, offering a freedom for tube design. The new technology will be on display alongside the company's large range of direct print plastic tubes solutions for the cosmetics, personal and hair care industries.
