Shade named after Drake is most popular in Lips & Boys range

Tom Ford has released another Lips & Boys lipstick collection, with the shade named after US music star Drake proving the most popular online.

The metallic burgundy shade sold out within minutes of its launch online in the US yesterday. The shade is also thought to be out-of-stock in all Tom Ford boutiques. Although, it is now in stock on several UK sites, including Net-a-Porter.

The Lips & Boys range originally launched last year. Ford has now released a second version of the sell-out collection after teasing pictures of the range over Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The limited range includes 50 shades of a miniature ‘clutch sized’ lipstick.

Each shade is named after a man in Tom Ford’s life, including “Jake” – named after actor Jake Gyllenhaal and the most popular shade – “Drake”. The rapper responded to the news that the shade had sold out online in an Instagram post. He joked: “My mom bought all of them. Hey Ma.”
