TricorBraun helps avoid heat warp

Published: 1-Dec-2010

TricorBraun has developed a novel solution to the distortion of hot-filled PET bottles, claimed to be an aesthetic improvement on traditional methods such as thick walls and vertical ribs. TricorBraun customer Monin Gourmet Flavorings hot-fills its bottles at 155°C-160°C and previously used a heavier bottle to overcome distortion, however this led to loss of product and poor shelf appearance. The alternative - vertical support ribs, similar to those found in water bottles - would interfere with the label panel, compromising the brand’s signature appearance.

TricorBraun’s solution involved the addition of support rings above and below the label panel, which preserved the unique appearance of the one litre PET bottle.
