Beauty owner has replaced heads of its supply chain and legal operations

Unilever, the beauty company behind Ren Skincare and Dove, has made a selection of changes to its senior positions.

Following the retirement of its Chief Supply Chain Officer, Marc Engel, whose career spans 30 years with the business, Reginaldo Ecclissato, formerly Unilever’s Executive VP Mexico, Central America and Greater Caribbean, will assume the role.

Ecclissato’s transition will be effective 1 January, while Engel will make his exit in April the same year.

Unilever’s Chief Legal Officer & Group Secretary, Ritva Sotamaa, has also stepped away from her role after eight years with the company.

Replacing her is the former General Counsel & Group Secretary of global tech company ABB, Maria Varsellona.

“On behalf of everyone at Unilever I would like to thank Ritva and Marc for their tremendous contribution over the course of their careers with us,” said Unilever's CEO Alan Jope.

“Ritva has built a first-class legal function at Unilever, brought great leadership to our business integrity agenda and was instrumental in the successful unification of our dual-headed legal structure.”

Unilever ended its dual-headed structure with its Dutch headquarters in favour of a London-based entity in 2020.

Speaking about Engel’s departure, Jope added: “Marc’s leadership of our supply chain has been critical to Unilever becoming a faster, more resilient and more sustainable business.

“I am very grateful to Marc’s contribution over his long career with Unilever, and in particular for his stewardship of our supply chain through the many challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic over the last two years.”
