With more than half of Brits shopping online instead of in-store, it has never been more important for online retailers to optimise their e-commerce sites.

And as the critical Christmas shopping period approaches, global data firm Loqate has revealed its top tips to ready online businesses.

According to web research firm Baymard Institute, almost 70% of carts are abandoned online, which it claims is due to slow landing pages, unexpected extra costs and complicated checkout procedures.

In response, it has put together a 15-strong list on how to improve brands’ e-commerce platforms.
