Vantage Specialty Chemicals has purchased Desert Whale Jojoba Company, the US producer of jojoba and jojoba-based derivatives, oils and specialty ingredients.
The purchase complements Vantage’s global personal care business under the Lipo brand and acts to strengthen its portfolio of natural, Ecocert and organic solutions to marketers of skin and hair care products.
Desert Whale’s jojoba farms, where the company grows and harvests plants for their oil, were also acquired as part of the deal, while the co-founder and president of Desert Whale, Soraya Rohde, will join the Vantage personal care team to manage the jojoba and natural derivatives business.
