Weener Plastics acquires packaging rival Proenfar

The Latin American packaging company is said to complement Weener Plastics ‘perfectly’

Weener Plastics Group has acquired Latin American packaging heavyweight Proenfar.

The acquisition is said to be a ‘major milestone’ for Weener, which will benefit from Proenfar’s market penetration in Colombia, Argentina and Mexico.

Proenfar creates packaging for a number of product categories including deodorants and cosmetics.

Roel Zeevat, CEO of Weener Plastics, said: “The acquisition of Proenfar marks an important milestone in our successful international expansion.

Proenfar, headquartered in Bogotá in Colombia, exports products to more than 20 countries across the Americas.
