Words of wisdom: How I became a General Manager at Shiseido Group

Helen Wood is the General Manager for luxury make-up brands Shiseido, NARS, Laura Mercier, & Clé de Peau Beauté.

With a career in beauty and fashion that spans Fossil Group, MAC Cosmetics and Erno Laszlo, Wood believes that connecting with peers and finding different opportunities outside of your 'everyday' is the key to standing out.

Prior to joining Shiseido Group in 2018, she had worked for "both large corporations and conversely, much smaller – almost start-up companies," she tells Cosmetics Business. "Every choice I have made in my career has reaped positive rewards."
