By submitting a message to the beauty retailer, it will play consumers’ recorded or written messages to their mothers at the edge of the Earth’s atmosphere

For an otherworldly Mother’s Day, The Perfume Shop is helping its customers celebrate in out of this world style.

The ‘Say It…’ campaign encourages customers to submit a recorded or written message for their mothers and influential figures in their lives to be played at the outer edges of the Earth’s atmosphere.

By way of a high-altitude balloon, on the day (14 March) The Perfume Shop will launch a video with all the submitted messages that will be played throughout its journey and returned back to Earth.

“With families still separated and many finding themselves apart from their mum for a second Mother’s Day, it’s an opportunity to spread the love and show her just how much she means in a bigger way than could ever be achieved on Earth,” said the retailer in a press statement.

A camera will film the trip, which will continuously play the messages and be shared on The Perfume Shop’s website and social media channels on Mother’s Day.

The Perfume Shop is asking customers to submit their videos, voice recordings or images of messages by the end of 2 March.

“A year into lockdowns, we know a lot of customers will once again be separated from their mums this Mother’s Day and we wanted to give them the chance for a grand gesture to make sure they feel the love, even if they can’t be together,” said The Perfume Shop’s Marketing and Customer Experience Director.

“We’re excited for The Perfume Shop’s first voyage into space and can’t wait for customers to be able to surprise their mums this Mother’s Day with something out of this world,” she added.
