Retail group YOLO and chemical distribution company Dragon Services & Solutions have banded together to pull a UK-based cosmetics manufacturer back from the brink of collapse.

Cosmetics Lab formulates, manufactures and tests a range of consumer products at its facility in Horsham, West Sussex, working with brands including Elemis.

Founded in 2008, the company was forced into administration following the recent passing of its owner, who YOLO credited with being the driving force behind the business.

Since the signing of the acquisition, YOLO, an online retail ‘village’ comprising eight businesses, said Cosmetics Lab has undergone a rebrand with a new website and a restructured management team.

The business has also relocated to a new production facility, which is anticipated to increase its production capabilities by more than 40% – and plans for an own range of consumer brands have been revealed.

Ian Dawson, Director of Dragon Services & Solutions, said: “I have a longstanding relationship with Cosmetics Lab and the team, and have always admired the expertise that has attracted some amazing clients.

“Alongside YOLO, we will take the business to the next level and we are excited about what the future holds.”
