Yves Rocher to launch skin care collection in January 2015 called Sérum Végétal.

French beauty brand Yves Rocher is due to launch a skin care collection in January 2015 called Sérum Végétal. Uniquely, the products feature cryoextracts of Mesembryanthemum crystalline, also known as the ‘plant of life’, which grows in South African deserts.

The plant of life has the ability to adapt to different conditions – due to its unusual 128 chromosome structure (most plants have two) – and as a result has spread to Australia, the Americas and the Mediterranean. From an ingredient perspective, it is said to be able to penetrate the skin and help combat wrinkles.

There are three ranges in the collection: Sérum Végétal Rides et Eclats, which contains rice extract and costs €21 for a 50ml day cream or a 50ml night cream; Sérum Végétal Rides et Fermeté, which contains acacia gum and costs €28 for a 30ml serum, a 50ml day cream or a 50ml night cream; and Sérum Végétal Rides et Lifting, which contains buckthorn and costs €34 for a 30ml serum, a 50ml day cream or a 50ml night cream. The packs for the three ranges are coloured saffron, orange and red for differentiation.
