Zemea Propanediol Certified by the Natural Products Association (NPA)

DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products today announced that its breakthrough product, Zemea propanediol, has been independently reviewed and certified as a natural ingredient by the Natural Products Association (NPA), the leading non-profit organization in the United States dedicated to the natural products industry (Natural Products Association Certified Ingredients).

Zemea is a 100 percent natural ingredient made from corn sugar through fermentation and developed for use in the cosmetics and personal care market. It is a high performance and sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols and glycerin, where the product’s purity level, low irritation and excellent moisturization and aesthetic properties are benefits.

“We are very excited to receive NPA certification of Zemea, which is seeing widespread adoption in the global personal care market” said Rose Durham, Market Manager, DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products. “Companies who are seeking NPA certification for their natural products now have a certified glycol alternative to add to their formulator’s toolbox.”

The Natural Products Association (www.naturalproductsassoc.org) is the nation’s largest and oldest non-profit organization dedicated to the natural products industry. The association represents more than 10,000 retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of natural products, including foods, dietary supplements, and health/beauty aids.
