With consumers driving cosmetic manufacturers to deliver innovative new products, R&D departments face a huge challenge to create formulations that meet today’s demands. To enable the 2,000-plus businesses based in the US to continue bringing unique products to market, this year’s inaugural in-cosmetics North America event will feature an interactive Formulation Lab on the show floor.

Visitors attending the event from 7-8 September 2016 will benefit from the expert advice on offer during free-of-charge sessions at the Formulation Lab – a purpose-built laboratory complete with benches and a range of equipment. Ingredient suppliers and technical experts will host one-hour training sessions over the two days, allowing finished product manufacturers to learn how to incorporate new ingredients and techniques that will help bring innovations to market.

The in-cosmetics Group launched the Formulation Lab concept at in-cosmetics Asia in Bangkok, receiving widespread praise for this brand new and unique feature. Dr Peter Roethlisberger, Managing Director of Lipoid Kosmetik AG, commented: “It was a pleasure to participate in the Formulation Lab to gain a different interaction with customers, and show them how easily our actives can be used. This worked well as we were able to answer their questions directly and give them a truly hands-on experience.”

The very first in-cosmetics North America event will take place in the strategic location of New York City. With around 70 percent of personal care manufacturing located in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, the event will provide a time and cost effective way for thousands of manufacturers, R&D and lab professionals to access invaluable technical information and new products.

Running in partnership with MakeUp in New York, which runs on the same dates in New York, the first in-cosmetics North America event will feature a plethora of business opportunities that will allow the US personal care industry to continue leading the global market.

In addition to the Formulation Lab, more than 100 suppliers from 20 countries will be present, showcasing their latest ingredients alongside a series of free seminars aimed at cosmetic industry marketing professionals. Mintel will highlight the key products and consumer trends for the global beauty market, while Kline will provide insights into consumer beauty and personal care trends and the impact they will have on ingredients.
