in-cosmetics 2012 provided cosmetics companies with a wide variety of advanced ingredients and interesting marketing stories. SPC looks at some of the highlights

For the beauty world in-cosmetics is a byword for innovation with nearly every ingredients supplier aiming to unveil new materials – or at the very least new data on existing favourites – at the event. This year’s expo in Barcelona, which ran from 17-19 April, was no exception.

Notable areas of progress included actives for skin care, specifically those claiming advanced anti-ageing effects or soothing actions on sensitive skin. Meanwhile, those with booths sporting the in-focus ‘Solar Trail’ logo were keen to demonstrate their capabilities for sun care and the twin trends towards more convenient and more sustainable solutions continued to gain momentum.
