Arthur Edward, the leading recruitment specialist for the beauty, cosmetics and personal care industry, publishes its 2025 Salary Survey & Industry Report on Tuesday 2 September. The Report reveals the latest shifts in compensation, workplace flexibility, AI adoption and many more factors affecting the global beauty sector

Key Findings

The annual survey of beauty industry professionals shows a slowing in the frequency and level of salary increases. However the industry maintains strong career progression opportunities, with 39% of respondents changing roles within two years.

Salary ranges vary significantly across specialisms, from £24,000 for entry-level positions to £400,000 for Creative Perfumers. Technical roles command premium salaries, with qualified professionals earning up to £300,000.

Workplace flexibility remains a critical factor for many, with only 38% willing to accept even their dream job, if it demands full-time workplace attendance.

AI adoption has surged dramatically from 24% to 60% in just one year, led by senior executives (72% adoption rate). Notably, 43% expect AI to reduce workloads without threatening job security, with only 5% concerned about role replacement.

"The beauty industry moves fast - always has," said Heidi Bannister, Arthur Edward Founder & MD. "This year’s Report shows professionals embracing change while maintaining focus on creativity and innovation. The recruitment challenge? Employers want teams in the workplace more often, but talented individuals far prefer hybrid working."
