The multinational Eurofragance has inaugurated its expanded production facilities in Rubí, Barcelona, Spain. Ten million euros have been invested in new facilities and dosing robots, enabling the company to triple its factory’s production capacity and reaffirming its commitment to technological innovation, sustainability and the well-being of its employees.
Fragrance production carried out on the Rubí site is now equivalent to half of the company’s global annual output. This will allow the group to meet the growing demand of its customers in the EAT (Europe, Africa and Turkey) and Middle East markets.
In addition, the expansion of the manufacturing plant also enables Eurofragance to augment and improve its production capabilities for categories of products beyond fine perfumery which require greater production volumes.
Clara Mena, Chief Operations Officer, says: “The renovation of our flagship factory along with a redesigned workspace and new robotics allow us to triple our production capacity. The more than 2,000 square meters expansion of our production facility includes remodeled offices and labs to ensure greater ergonomics and increased worker satisfaction. Thanks to an innovative approach and our commitment to sustainability, we have improved our usage of available space, while also creating a more modern, efficient and pleasant work environment.”
Technology, efficiency and commitment to a sustainable future
The Rubí manufacturing plant is positioned at the technological forefront of the group, standing out for its high degree of automation. Santiago Giménez, Global Plant Engineering Manager, explains: “With this expansion, we have automated 80% of our operations. This allows us to improve the reliability and traceability of our processes and increase the quality of our fragrances. We have also incorporated resource optimization systems, such as the use of solar panels that generate over one third of our energy needs. Additionally, we have strategic internal resources to ensure the continuity of our production process in the event of an unexpected situation.”
This expansion exemplifies Eurofragance's strategic focus on sustainable growth and strengthens its position as a leader in the fragrance sector at a global level.
Job creation and a firm commitment to local talent and technical training
The expansion of the Rubí factory has boosted the creation of specialized jobs, from operators to technicians and engineers to accompany the increasing automation of production processes.
Eurofragance has generated direct employment in Rubí, strengthened its partnerships with local suppliers and reinforced its commitment to technical training in collaboration with local institutions such as CECOT, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), the Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS) and vocational training centers.
