Bespoke brush designs can be industrialised in just a month, says packaging firm

Cosmetic packaging specialist Albéa has unveiled that, under its ‘Make 3D yours’ service, it can now offer custom-designed mascara brushes within one week and have them industrialised in just four weeks.

Clients of Albéa are invited to attend workshops with Erpro, Albéa’s 3D printer partner, to follow their project step-by-step and validate their samples on-site.

According to the Paris-headquartered company, this development package is available for a symbolic fee and aims to grow awareness of 3D technology by showcasing its benefits.

“With this technology we are able to create up to ten different brush shapes in one week,” explained Laura Boroni, Market Manager Color Cosmetic Eyes at Albéa Bottanuco (Italy), Albéa’s global centre of excellence for mascaras.

“As we can print nearly everything, the design options are endless, making the mascara brush absolutely unique for the customer.

“Mascara brushes are only the beginning: thanks to our design experts we will extend this 3D offer to other product categories and provide brands with very short design-to-production process," added Boroni.

“And we will not compromise on sustainability: we are already offering bio-based brushes and will offer additional sustainable options in the future.”
