Beauty packaging supplier opens a new facility in Suzhou

Beauty packaging supplier Albéa has announced the opening of a new facility in Suzhou, near Shanghai in China. The new facility is the only Albéa site which houses the complete scope of the group’s core expertise: tubes, cosmetic rigid packaging (mascaras, lip gloss, compacts, bottles) and dispensing systems – each in a dedicated building. According to the company, the new China site offers customers faster speed to market, flexibility and supply chain efficiency.

Albéa Suzhou is described as highly automated, with integrated decoration and assembly capabilities. At 30,000sqm the facility represents an investment of US$14m and is currently a base for 800 employees.

Albéa already has four other facilities in China (in Zhongshan, Shenzhen and Shanghai), each said to be a centre of excellence for a particular packaging, as well as two sales offices. The Suzhou site is Albéa’s centre of excellence for mascara packaging and dispensing systems in the country.
