Worthington said it was an "extremely personal" and difficult decision to make

Charles Worthington, the Founder of the eponymously named hair care brand and Creative Director of Charles Worthington Salons, has announced the end of his partnership with beauty conglomerate PZ Cussons.

Worthington revealed that the decision was an “extremely personal” and difficult one to make. He said: “It is with deep regret that I announce that I shall no longer be under contract and collaborating with PZ Cussons.”

PZ Cussons will continue to handle the Charles Worthington hair product business and brand, which it acquired in 2004, while Worthington will focus on his salon business. Worthington added: “I will at this time give particular focus to my role as Creative Director at Charles Worthington Salons, which has been the backbone of my career and a passion since I opened my first salon in 1986 in Charlotte Place, London, with one stylist and my sister Jane on reception.”

Worthington operates three salons in London in Fitzrovia, Covent Garden and the City, which welcome more than 1000 clients every week.

Looking ahead this year, the Charles Worthington brand plans to expand globally; the brand has already experienced a number of successful launches in Australia, South Africa and Saudi Arabia earlier this year.
