Turkey’s BeautyEurasia 2020 trade show has become the latest event to be postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic.
The exhibition was due to take place in Istanbul for three days from 18 June, but has been pushed back to 1 July.
More than 370 brands from 36 countries were expected to showcase their products at the show.
Since the Covid-19 outbreak was announced in November last year, in-Cosmetics Global, Beauty Dusseldorf, Cosmoprof Bologna, Luxe Pack Shanghai and PCHi have all rescheduled their industry events.
In a statement to Cosmetics Business, BeautyEurasia’s Event Director Filiz Mehmedova explained that the decision had been taken due to the change in the global exhibition calendar.
She said: “After close consultation with our supporting associations and exhibitors, as well as visitors, we have decided to reschedule BeautyEurasia 2020.
“Almost all of the exhibitors, visitors and partners stated that they support the staging of BeautyEurasia later in 2020."
To date, there have been almost 99,000 confirmed cases of the virus globally – 80,556 of which are from mainland China – according to statistics from John Hopkins University.
There have been no confirmed cases in Turkey.
