Aimee Song, Patrick Starrr and Emily Schuman to launch new polish shades

Nail colour brand Formula X has launched a new collaboration scheme that will see ten well-known names in beauty, fashion and health create a limited edition range of colours. Three new shades will be released each month, starting with interior designer and fashion blogger Aimee Song in January this year. The new project is titled #ColorCurators and has its own dedicated space on the Formula X website.

Each collection will run for one month and will include several shades in Formula X’s No Compromise Formula said to reflect each collaborator’s “signature style”. Product numbers will be very limited due to the nature of the project. The new ranges will be available at Sephora in store and on the retailer’s website.

Song has created three neutral shades inspired by her love of “everyday basics”. The range includes a pastel pink – called Girl’s Best Friend, a mint green – called Mintfluencer, and a nude named Nude For You. Song commented: “This New Year it’s all about fresh neutrals that accent your outfit without overpowering them. Why go bare when you can have colour? Each polish is super opaque – in true Formula X fashion.”

The range launched in Sephora on 26 December. Formula X recommends that consumers use the colours as part of its famous four-step format “The System”. The product contains four products designed to first cleanse and prime the nail before adding a colour and a top coat.

Other up-coming collaborators include beauty vlogger Patrick Starrr, whose polishes will launch in February; and CupcakesandCashmere.com blogger Emily Schuman, set to debut in March.

An extended collaboration is due to launch later in the year in October and last three months. The collaborator has not been confirmed but is said to be “one of the world’s biggest beauty sensations” and is described on the #ColorCurators website as an “international beauty phenomenon”.
