The brand’s tongue-in-cheek TikTok response to Selling Sunset’s Heather Rae El Moussa saying ‘I don’t wear Revlon’ has 4.6 million views

Revlon has gone viral on TikTok, racking up 4.6 million views, after posting a response to a reality TV star’s video about the brand.

The US make-up company released a tongue-in-cheek video on TikTok after Heather Rae El Moussa, star of Netflix TV show Selling Sunset, told the platform she does not wear Revlon.

In her TikTok, the 35-year-old reality star found a pink Revlon lip liner in her husband Tarek El Moussa’s van.

She held up the lip liner and said: “When you find another woman’s lip liner in your husband’s Sprinter.

She added: “Revlon? I don’t wear Revlon” and then threw the lip liner toward the camera.

Her husband then chimed in: “She found ski pants three years ago and I am still in trouble.”

In the video’s caption, El Moussa admitted that the lip liner belonged to her sister-in-law but joked that you should “always make them sweat ladies”.

Revlon saw El Moussa’s post and responded with a TikTok to poke fun at the Selling Sunset star.

In the video, an employee at Revlon headquarters pretended to catch the lip liner that El Moussa had thrown away at the end of her video.

The employee then addressed El Moussa in the clip: “Thanks girl. I have been looking for that.

“And I want my ski pants back.”

The video has been viewed 4.6 million times and earned more than 430,000 likes, 7,983 comments and 11,800 saves.

TikTok users have applauded the make-up company for its funny response.

Creator @mburk514 commented, “Oh snap. I am team Revlon now”, while user @ThatFunnyMom said, “Do not mind me, just going to buy some Revlon lip liner”.

Others applauded the Revlon marketing team for its “spicy” video, claiming the brand is “top-tier”.

El Moussa’s husband Tarek even joined in the fun, commenting under Revlon’s post: “The pants are in the mail… do not tell Heather.”

Despite this viral fame, it has been a challenging year for Revlon so far.

The beauty company emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy this May following a year-long battle, after falling into administration in June 2022.

Its CEO Debra Perelman has also stepped down after five years at the helm.

Elizabeth Smith, Executive Chair of the Elizabeth Arden owner’s board of directors, has taken over as interim CEO.

Revlon is the owner of brands including Revlon, Elizabeth Arden, Mitchum and Almay.

It also holds fragrance licences for the likes of singer Britney Spears, actress Elizabeth Taylor and fashion brand Juicy Couture.
